I've been lucky enough to commentate on many hundreds of occasions, as Tymal has roared down the slope from the Cromwell Road End at Hove.
The thrill never goes away, the electric anticipation of the crowd, the hush in the press box, as one of the great T20 bowlers of our time goes about his work.
But more than that a journalist’s dream, honest, self-deprecating, always available for interview in good times and bad… thank you; it’s been an absolute pleasure.

As Sussex Cricket’s charitable arm, the aim of the Sussex Cricket Foundation is to actively change lives through the power of cricket across the County. We use the game and the Sussex Cricket brand to deliver accessible and enjoyable opportunities that grow the sport, tackle inequalities, improve health and wellbeing and enable people of all ages, abilities and genders to fulfil their potential.
St George’s is home to one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, with paediatric services rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are the people that parents rely on when the worst happens to their children. St George’s Hospital Charity is here to support our amazing staff and the brilliant work that they do.
Chance to Shine is an independent charity on a mission to inspire young people through cricket in schools and communities across England, Scotland and Wales. We want children to learn a love of the game and find a sense of belonging through the sport; developing their wider wellbeing and life skills to help fulfil their potential.
Welcome to our first event of the year, a complimentary drinks reception followed by a three-course sit down lunch with Rob Key, managing director of the England Cricket team, plus more guests to be announced soon!
